“The Double Burden of Diseases in the LMIC(Low- and Middle-Income Countries) and LM(Lifestyle Medicine) Intervention”

(Learning Objectives)

  1. To Identify the double burden of diseases in the context of low- and middle-income countries(LMICs).

  2. To identify the impact and challenges of the double burden of diseases on society.

  3. To describe the role of lifestyle medicine in disease prevention, treatment, and management based on research evidences.

  4. To discuss interventions and applications of lifestyle medicine in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).

초록(Abstract)

Low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) face the double burden of disease, grappling with both communicable diseases (CDs) and the rising prevalence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), which place significant strain on their healthcare systems. Lifestyle Medicine (LM), with its focus on prevention, treatment, and management through sustainable lifestyle changes, offers a promising approach to addressing NCDs in these regions. This presentation explores the potential impact of LM interventions in LMICs, supported by evidence-based research, while addressing the challenges and proposing strategies for successful implementation.
